How did we ever do it?

It's hot here in Colorado today. This morning it was so cold that the kids at the swim meet were goose-bumped and literally blue, but now as dinner simmers on the stove, it has reached 82.9 degrees according to the kitchen counter thermometer.
Now, I know that is not hot by Seguin standards, but maybe I have acclimated or maybe it is age or maybe 82 is hotter than it used to be, but it makes me wonder how we did it in the days when we didn't have AC at SHS or at Saegert before that. (Oh, my, I sound like those relatives we always swore we would never be.... Next thing I will be wearing a robe to drop my daughter at school....)
What are your memories of summer in Seguin? Do you remember how the hall always smelled that first week of school? Or how hot and dusty Freedom Fiesta always made you feel? Share your summer memories....
I think I'll grab an ice tea and sit under a ceiling fan for a bit....
